    Default Indirect lighting

    Ive just fitted a auto dim Mirror has the light under the mirror but how does it turn on it hasn't came on yet when I tested the mirror before fitting I coverd both sensors and it came on I've only connected the 12v power and earth to cigaret lighter any thoughts on this thanks

    Tried it with the car lights on? Might only work if it assumes you are driving at night, and covering both sensors wouldn't necessarily emulate that. Otherwise... no idea!

    Not connected to lights out just a 12v feed covering both sensors made it come on all have alook later

    It's activated by the sensor on the rear of the mirror, it works independantly of the the lights anyway

    Make sure you cover the sensors before you switch on the ignition if you're testing it. It only senses the light threshold at the moment the ignition is turned on not before or after. Or at least that's how it works when factory-fitted.

    it just takes a while to react to the low light level if its been powered for a while, like a time delay incase your under a bridge or carpark level

    If that's the case, why does the light on mine come on approx 30 seconds after I've drove into the garage?

    Got it working put black tape on sensor 5 seconds and was totally dim and light on bottom
