    Default Oil light 1.8vvt

    Good evening.
Only noticed today after not driving me car for a week that it takes about 5 seconds for the oil light to go out when starting from cold.
Is there anything related to this engine i need to know.
Ive searched and only found out that the cam solnoids have little wire gauze filters in them that block up.
Am i on the right route.

P.s ive changed the oil and filter about 3 week ago and the paper element wasnt sucked in and the oil was clean and nice and thin. Only had it 4 week and driven it about 4 times............

just found another thread on same fault..............

    Sorry gents

Mine takes a few seconds to go out and has just had the solenoids changed. Is it rattley while the oil light is on?

    Happens on mine too...
Have a search on here, it seems to be a VVT thing!
So long as it's not rattling.

The Oil pressure switch is at the end of the oil path, and so takes a little while to go out.

The real issue is the rattle from cold... there is a fair bit about it on here. It is a home fix if caught early.

Regular Oil changes seem to go a long way to stopping the rattle and wear. Mine is so much quieter from cold now it has Magnatec in it...
But if it does come, it'll come from the Cam Pulley ends.

    Matt
