    Default What's this??

    Hi All
Having a look in my engine bay, I noticed something that looks like an old fluid bottle, at the back below what I believe is the fuel filter housing, does anyone know what it is and if it should be there??? I've never seen this in an engine before, so beginning to think it either shouldn't be there or maybe it's someones attempt to cover something up or protect it??

    I think i have attached 2 pictures

    Hi
Thanks for that, Oh, I was expecting the PSF Res to be a clear plastic cylinder, but I hadn't looked for it.

There are two types... Think the 1.9's and the big engine ones have it burried in the wheel arch area and is a pig to get to... The 1.8's 2.0's etc have this bottle which is great to get at and top up if needed... (or change out the fluid)...

The PAS system on the Vectra C is a low maintenance, semi-sealed type, so the bottle's hidden away and doesn't have the usual yellow cap for things you should be checking on. Generally it doesn't need topping up for about 100,000 miles or more - unless you've got a fault of course.

Has anyone got a picture of the 1.9CDTi with parts identification, like what you get in a Haynes manual or should I buy a Haynes?
