Default Noise from left front wheel :-(

    Hello guys

After driving back from shop yesterday a noise has started coming from left front wheel. It sounds like a clicking/ticking noise as if something was stuck in a tyre on bike. Ive looked at the breaks and the pads and discs are ok. Iam just wondering what it is and if safe to drive for now. Any advice would be great. :-) Thanks

Could be the cv joint, this will make a clicking when turning. Failing that it might be a wee stone stuck somewhere. Jack it up and turn it by hand at straight ahead, right and left lock

I assume you have checked the tread for stones?

Sometimes stones get caught up behind the plate behind the disk.

As stevie16v says jack it up and turn the wheel and if its a stone you should be able to work out where the noise is coming from. you might have to remove the road wheel and lay on the ground below the brake disk and look up and you will see the plate which might need to bent out to release the stone if there is one

Ive took wheel off and pushed the brake plate and seems to be not there now after a quick drive around. It seemed more noticable when weight was on that side when turning on roundabout ect. Hopefully its gone if not back to the drawing board :-D

yes you are correct when stones have been caught behind the plate they do only seem to make a noise when turning mostly at low speed

Hey people I got the same problem but on front drivers side, only clicks at slower speeds turning left... my mate checked it and said inner right cv joint looks like its leaking but I will check for stones in disc as this problem only started after I put on my new mintex drilled n grooved discs on... hope you get your problems sorted. You lot are a great help with other ideas.. vectra c 2.0t
