New satnav disc needed or not?

My satnav disc is the original 2007 disc and I've never updated it. There isn't a facility to input post codes on the veccy satnav and wondered if a newer disc would have.
Is it advisable to get the latest disc and if so how much are they and where can I get one from?

There are two or three discs for the CD70.

Normally you get two disks with the vehicle.
A Language disc and a Map disk.

The language disk is for changing languages (obviously) and also used to reset the radio, when dodgy / faulty / copied update discs have screwed up the radio.

You can also get an update (firmware) disc - the latest being the October / November 2007 disc. - only £7 from Vauxhall dealership... you only use it once.

There are various map discs available, however I find that the one I use most is the 2009/2010 map disc.
2011 and 2012 no longer provide TM / TMC ( real time traffic updates / warnings).

Bizarrely my 2007 disc is more accurate than my 2010 disc, even on local roads laid in 2009 !!??

There is, but only the first 5 digits.

You enter it in where you would normally enter the town name.

Anyone selling an updated disc with Postcode facility?

TMC is not a concern but newer disc with PC would be ideal

Well I'll have to try putting a postcode into my Nav now - I thought mine didn't recognise postcodes either!

I only have a nav disc? Is it a problem I do t have the other cd? As its only a 1 owner car and could try the previous owner?

Nope no problem

You would only need the language disk, if you get a fettish to speak german or french etc..

And you'd only need an update disk, if you need TMC on the latest map discs, or if yours doesn't zoom in to 60yds, and does not have "avoid ferries" or "avoid tunnels" etc..)

I think all map discs have the same 5 digit post-code facility.
