    Default Front suspension woes

    i have a 2008 sri

i have just fiitted sachs supertrouring shocks all around the car.
i have eibach 30mm springs on them.

im getting a knocking/rumbling from both sides at the front end when going over rough roads/potholes etc.

when i removed the wheels, i could lift the struts up and down with out issues - as if the shocks were knackered.

i have fitted new drop links as well.

the bottom arms/bushes/arb/ball joints etc look a if they dont have wear/play on them.

all the bolts etc are all tight.

could it be possible that the springs are no good for the shocks?

i was actually considering refitting the original springs to see if it would help, but ive chucked the originals out.

any help please coz im at my wits end with the noise/knocking

    thanks

    rab.....................

just noticed ive selected the subject as vxr - it should be vectra

when i put in the torx onto the piston without the nut being held, the piston seems to turn - but thats the strut nut being held......should this do this?

The strut piston will turn that why there's a torx star insert for you to hold when you tighten the nut to stop the piston turning. That why I don't use the torch star I use a airgun to tighten it up as you can round them so you can't tight them.
