Default Anyone done wood cladding on a house before?

    Hi folks,

My new property is in need of a face lift. I've seen some house have wood cladding but havent got a clue how much it would be. You can use real wood or the plastic man-made stuff.

    Has anyone done it before?

I took some photos and have done some photoshopping to show how it would look on my house:

If you have Sky tv, watch or record a programm on channel 242 tomorrow, at 3pm, "Challenge Tommy Walsh". That episode is all about cladding. It's actually part 2 of 2, the first part was shown today at 3pm, to be repeated at 03:25 tomorrow morning. If you're thinking of getting cladding, it's unmissable.

They do PVCU cladding now which I presume would be a lot easier to maintain? Would it not be a case of putting battens up and then fixing cladding to that? I did it like that with wood cladding for a mates house.
