Exclamation Cen locking failed, car Immobilized, help pls!

    Afternoon all.

Have done a search but nothing came up for my problem.

Cars been stood up for about a week as I had a work van to use. No problems reported when it was last used. Went out to the car to get some Rizla at 1am as you do, and it wouldn't un-lock on the remote. Openend the driver door with the key and the alarm went off. Not waiting around for the wrath of my neigbours I grabbed the Rizla and locked it manualy. Slept on it and figgered it was a flat battery. Tested it with a meter this morning to find a reading of 12v. It's been on charge for this afternoon back up to 12.8v but the problem continues. I have also tried the second, unsed remote but it does the same.

When turning on the ignition, dash lights up normally, the radio comes on and then I'm left with a flashing spanner light and nothing else when I turn thr key to try to start. I'm guessing this is an immobilizer problem as well as the central locking?. When off the alarm led blinks at a rate that if I read the owners manual correctly, there is a fault somewhere.

I have checked all the near side fuses under the bonnet and in the boot but there fine.

Really need the car right now so any help to get it fixed would be a life saver.

RAC cover does not cover me for home start!.

Car is a 2006 SRI 1.9cdti. 36'000m on the clock.

    Thanks in adavance

    Pheewww.....

    SORTED!

Looks like it was the battery. Went out to try the fault code check and key/cen locking re-set and noticed the alarm didn't go off this time when un-locked manually and I opened the drivers door. Tried the ignition, and she fired up.
