    Question Pioneer AVH-8400BT into Vectra C

    Hi all, just bought a Pioneer AVH-8400BT head unit and having a few problems which I am hoping someone can help me with First the kit list I bought:

    Head Unit --> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pio-...vh-8400bt.html <--
    Wiring Harness Adapter --> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-...hall-2004.html <--
    Double Din Adapter --> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-...xhallopel.html <--
    Aerial Adapter --> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/con-...-vauxhall.html <--
    Pioneer Stalk Adapter --> http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/conn...r-adaptor.html <--
    Vehicle Interface --> http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/7099.html <--

    Main problem is with the power to the head unit: I can get it to come on when I switch on the ignition but not manually when the ignition is off. I have tried switching the red and yellow cables around as per the Pioneer diagrams but no luck - any suggestions?

    Also, the Connects2 double din facia kit is possibly the worst thing I have ever bought and you get a bag of bits with no instructions on what to do with it!! What have other people bought for fitting a double din head unit into a pre-face lift Vectra C?

    Could do with some help with this one as very stuck

    Thanks.

    Pete.

    The fascia kit needs fitting in this order:

    remove old headunit
    remove cage for old headunit
    fit fascia surround
    fit new cage (this holds the fascia in when you've bent the tabs back)
    sprung copper plates fitted to side of head unit using the silver brackets... I'll link to a pic that Ian posted a while ago... see post 3 in this thread:

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=162187

    With regards to the power issue, this is by design. With the connects2 harness you cannot have the headunit on without the ignition being live (car doesnt have to be started) and you should really have it wired this way to prevent the unit being left on and draining your battery. in order to have it always on you would need to link the ignition live of the headunit to a permament live in the car, but i wouldnt recommend it.

    When you turn the iginition off your headunit switches off with this harness, and you have to turn the key back to ignition on to turn it on. The autoleads harness allows the headunit to stay live until the key is removed but then doesnt allow you to change the time without putting your old one back in!

    I hope that makes sense!

    Question

    Another question on this one...

    Got a slight issue as need to get the unit "knowing" when it is parked. Need this so I can configure the Bluetooth - head unit will not allow you to make any changes to Bluetooth while driving.

    I have a parking brake sensor cable coming from the head unit and the manual says to connect this to the power supply side of the hand brake.

    Is this all possible in my Vectra C and once I get the trim out, is it fairly easy?

    Thanks.
    Pete.

    Did u manage to get the steering wheel buttons work with the head unit? I have Pioneer avh-3200bt and Connects2 adapter + pioneer stalk lead but they won't work. There's not even light on the buttons so they are "dead". The head unit works normally and turns off normally when the ignition is off, but it would be nice to get those steering wheel buttons to work. I think I have to try this http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/2...151/index.html which is Pioneer's own adapter cable. But it's also quite expensive.

    Oh and btw my car is half-can so it's with ISO...

    Actually got it working. Just needed to connect the blue/white cable ends...lol. Had no idea about that until I managed to google it somehow. Phew.
