    Default MKI9200 - Sound Quality

I decided to install the mki9200 yesterday, and after a hiccup with Nexus pairing, finally got it working and it's one seriously cool bit of kit.

However, I've noticed the bass doesn't really cut it, presumably down to the bluebox not being able to cope, so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to improve sound quality ?

I've got a CDC40 dab HU, so I think I'm out of luck with Line In to it - is there any other reasonably cheap and easy way to improve sound ?

    Cheers !

There is a "virtual super bass effect" in settings. It shifts the eq. I have the MKI9000 which is the same blue box and have been looking at ways to wire it into a sub. The only real option is to get an amp with a high-level input and take a line from one of the rear speakers. Bass is mono anyway so it won't matter which.
The only problem is that the canbus may detect a change in impedience, it does this to stop speakers blowing, but I have not tested it yet.

Yep - I've managed to suss out I can improve bass by dropping the VSB to the lowest frequency, but it's still a little tinny (but not unacceptable)...

Top end is brilliant, but when you're listening to dance music, I could do with some more bass...

Sub it is then mate. You will have to get a High Input amp and go from there.
Realistically, you should upgrade the whole system i.e. front amp, reap amp and sub amp but that's a bit heavy going for phone calls from a screaming wife...

in a word, no. The software on the box is for each individual version.
Perhaps you could flash it, but im not sure that would work. Especially as most of the time the update process doesn't even work.
