    Default VOSA Recall

Hope you lovely guys here might be able to help me.

My daughter has just bought a '56 plate Ford Focus.

Delving on the internet it appears to have an outstanding VOSA recall, with no paperwork to the contratict this.

So, is the recall still active, even if the previous owner ignored it? The car was bought from an independent garage so are Ford still "liable"?

If the recall is still active is is just a matter of contacting Ford?

Sorry to post this on a Vauxhall Forum.

Should be fine, as with VX, my cars were never bought from a VX dealer but if it's a manufacturer's recall then the dealer will carry out the work at the manufacturer's expense.

Yep - with any car you can contact a dealer or the manufacturer and ask if there are any outstanding recalls on it. Then arrange for a local dealer to perform the rectification work at the manufacturer's expense.

Mitsubishi UK are still honouring a recall for a revised design of Pitman arm on the 1991-1996 Shogun, and will even do it on imported Pajeros and Monteros if they weren't done in their original market before import.
