Default Light fault dash but why???

I had rear bulbs replaced, all working now after the dash light came on, but after fitting replacement bulbs and all working right, why is the light bulb with "!" inside still stays on? What else does it do apart from bulb fault?

    Confused!! :-/

just a guess and a couple of suggestions mate

think it constantly checks the line resistance cause mine sometimes comes on whilst driving without going anywhere near the brake.

correct wattage of bulbs fitted i take it?
check all connections to light units / rear electrical control area and fuses/ bulb holders for corrosion and poor contact.

ive still to do mine as my brake light function can not be faulted and display warning rarely comes on.

dont know if fault needs cleared from car modules but i wouldnt have thought so

I've cleared fault codes, it now comes up reverse left light malfunction, but showing up, I'll check again I might have not fitted it properly.

I got 100w bulbs for low beam cos it's not very bright, passed on the computer, only showing rear fault. Getting fed up of the orange light error on dash lol

Be careful you don't burn out the wires, relay, as you're drawing twice the current they were designed for, Also watch you don't melt the reflectors in the headlights.
