Default Big drop with "range" after filling up.

    Afternoon all,

I filled up at the weekend with Total Excellcium and the range readout showed about 250mls left, in the past this would normally show about 400mls left after filling the tank. anyone got any thoughts on why there is such a big difference.

I usually use the standard unleaded from total but the car has a lumpy idle and decided to run the tank down so i could fill up with more expensive stuff, BC showed i had 40mls left but i only got 45L of fuel in, so something didn't add up there anyway. i realise the BC isn't going to be very accurate but i still use it as a guide.

    I am averaging about 30mpg the car is a pre-facelift 2.0T

The BC will estimate the range based on your most recent driving, so if you have been hoofing it, then the range will be lower.

I often find the range picks up considerably when I do a reasonable run.

My range goes up and down like a yoyo as my (3) daily commute is cross country, motorway, London. Given up thinking about it as it hurts my brain worrying about it too much!
