    Default Happy Chappie re MPG!

Went to Thruxton this weekend for the BTCC (got soaked to the bone), and averaged 55mpg from start to finish! The total journey was 530 miles and included motorway and trunk road driving.

I never dropped much below 70mph on the motorway during which time the car still averaged 61mpg, but that average fell when I drove around Swindon then cross-country to Andover.

When I refilled the car this morning, the trip showed 874 miles remaining in the tank! I'll bet that drops now I'm back to normal driving LOL

Still - an impressive average MPG if you ask me!! I am using BP Ultimate fuel - not sure if that made any difference??

Yep that's about what I get doing a trip, funnily enough also to Swindon, from Derby. Mine was on 53mpg when I arrived in Swindon, many, many roundabouts (including the magic one) and junctions later after running around the town and it dropped to 50mpg. Was on 48mpg when I returned to Derby, but you don't get back from there in 2 hours without a little heavy right foot.
I've had 61mpg from mine doing the same journey but that's sticking to below 65mph on M/ways and driving like a granny elsewhere.

Roundabouts in Swindon - I hated every single one of them, and there were many. Can a tarmac specialist steal them please LOL
