Facelift Windscreen De-ice

Noticed something interesting this morning. Worked a night shift left the car in the car park for about 8 hours. Everyone was busy scraping the ice from their windscreens at the end of the shift so I went straight to the boot to get the de-icer. Walked to the front of the car and the screen wasn't frozen yet all the cars (various makes) around mine were. My rear screen was frozen solid but front wasn't.

I then noticed at the far end of the car park was one of my mates 1.8 facelift sri's parked up, he had been there longer than me all his windows were iced over yet his screen was just water.

Is there something about the facelift screens that stops them freezing? My pre-facelift screen always froze over.

I don't have a pre-facelift to compare, but mine certainly doesn't freeze anywhere near as often or as hard as previous cars I've had.

And it clears in 5 mins flat, from cold, with just the blowers.

Not bad, IMO.
