    Default 314mm upgrade saga!

I recently bought a set of 314mm carriers and calipers and got to stripping them down to paint them. when I got the 7mm allen key, I found one of the carrier bolts had been sheared off, jamming inside the carrier thread. I've been considering ways to get it out and decided to soak it in WD40 for a couple of days (where it is now) then get it over to the machine shop so I can get a pillar drill on it use an easy out to remove it, it gets better... went to the dealer today to get a replacement bolt, expecting it to be a couple of quid... but no £20.22 for 1!! Asked about the trade club and he said it was exempt from discount because only certain parts are in the trade scheme and this wasn't one of them.

Then my HEL hoses turned up, with the wrong size banjo and screw so I'm going to be delayed by the looks of it.... don't you just love it when a simple job becomes a mare!

Surely they aren't unique to Vx. Try a machine shop or specialist fasteners, I bet they'd have them.

All the guide bolts for the front brakes are the same size regardless of the calipers...

For future reference, Ford, Volvo and BMW all use very similar calipers, so their bolts would also fit.
