misted up headlight

on my vxr i changed the sidelight bulbs to mtech ones
but after replacing the cap the light has started to mist up now i had a look and noticed the cap had fell off and wedged its self in a crack

so i know that the mist is due to no cap but how is the best way to remove this mist been driving around with lights on but little difference TBH
but i have left the cap on would i be better off taking the cap off and running light as this should allow it to escape
