Default CDTI RPM at 70Mph in 6th gear

    Hi

I was just wondering if the CDTI 120 and 150 have different gearing, or if it is the Estate and Hatch that has different gearing.

We had an 04 CDTI (120) hatch which was doing about 1800rpm at 70mph in 6th.

    Our new 05 CDTI (150) estate does 2000rpm at 70mph in 6th.

I thought that maybe Vauxhall's had changed the gearing on the 05 model as the 120 was very easy to stall in 1st, so I thought maybe they had lowered all the gears slightly. However I had a CDTI (120) facelift hatch as a hire car from work this week which was doing about 1800rpm at 70.

I have never driven a 150 bhp hatch nor have a driven a 120 bhp estate.

So is it the 150 bhp engine that has lower gearing. Or is it the estate that has lower gearing?
