Default anybody had their fuel pump go? metal filings in the fuel filter?

I have just had a complete mad as a bag of cats phone call with the stealership......

metal filings in the fuel filter suggest a fuel pump failure apparently.

I also have a problem on the no2 injector.

So the stealership want to replace 6 injectors and a fuel pump and clean out the system at a cost of £6,700.............

Anybody else has their fuel pump go, and what was the resolve? how much did it cost? did the problem turn out to be something else, or was their linked problems?

Half that cost will be labour, you can get a second hand pump from ebay for hundreds I'm sure and get it reconned by a Bosch diesel pump specialist. The injectors can be reconned at the same time and you don't need the stealers to change the pump and injectors.

    Sorry ste.

I'm no expert but I imagine that as most of the engine parts are Isuzu diesel I imagine they will be completely different to the petrol 2.2.

It seems to be common failure on the 3.0 so it probably deserves its own watchdog style complaint.

I have more to learn about the fuel pumps on this vehicle.

am I right in saying there is not a pump in the tank?

The swarf is pretty bad in the fuel from the amount of time the new fuel filter has been in.

Diesel specialist is working on the car now, no2 injector is wrecked so I will need to replace it.
