Default Front Window Wiper problems... Random!?

    Starting from the beginning...

Firstly the screen washers seemed to stop working... you pull the lever to activate the Jets and you'd get an initial spray, then just a dribble... Wipers worked fine. Rear works no issues.

Then they just suddenly started to work again for no apparent reason...

Now, this morning, luckily its a lovely day, the washers work no problem but the wipers are dead!

I've taken the scuttle panel out and the linkage is intact and the motor is working away but just no movement!!??

SO I took the drivers side wiper arm off and tried again, they suddenly work again??? As do the washers?

I have the new (modified) linkage and it all seems to work fine, so I'm guessing that the motor has died? Although it does work sometimes?

I cant see any loose wires, connections etc, and I'm a little worried as the car is being traded in today so I can pick up my new car? They have already driven it and accepted it, so do I tell them or just hope they don't notice???

    Any ideas??

Check that the connection to the motor is dry (the small block under the scuttle tray). If it has been wet and the tray has not been cleaned, the conector is in water and it doesn't like it.

Don't tell them, imagine it the other way round, if you brought the car sold as seen and then got a wiper problem you would have to pay to get it fixed. As john said just hand the keys over, I'm pretty sure they can get a new motor without any problems.
