confused Any ideas of what would cause this ABS Fault code?

C0035 - Front Left Wheel Speed Sensor Circuit High Voltage
    (01) - Not present

It is the high voltage that is confusing me. If there was a bad connection in that circuit, I thought it would cause a low voltage. I have no clue what (01) - not present means.

Upon visual inspection, the wiring looks ok in that area. Connectors are of newer type.

When the car is cold (eg. first thing in morning), the ABS/TC warning lights are out and the wheel sensor live data is showing front n/s wheel sensor is working ok (i.e speed is in unison with all other wheels), but after normal driving and braking over a period of about 15 minutes, the ABS\TC lights always illuminates at the moment the car comes to rest (never pulses the brake pedal) and when driving away again, the wheel sensor live data is then showing wheel speed of front n/s wheel as 1 whilst the other wheels are showing the correct speed the car is travelling at.

It is almost as if thermal expansion of a component is having an effect and causing the malfunction. Strange one.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Thanks for that.

The '(01) Not Present' I worked out that it has been a fault but at the time of reading the fault code, the fault was no longer present. I managed to catch it today when the fault was present.

It does seem as if the sensor is breaking down at temperature. Its now very repeatable. I can almost predict the exact set of traffic lights the ABS warning will illuminate.

Update on this fault. Took it to an auto electrician and he disconnected the sensor at the connector on the front suspension strut and measured the resistence of the sensor one way then swapped the DMM probes and tested in the other direction. He decreed the sensor gave the correct readings. he then connected the connector back up and disconnected the wiring at the connector just prior to it dissapearing into the inner wing. The resistance of the sensor readings was much reduced than that of the first readings. His diagnosis was a part short within the wiring harness. He has ordered a new harness and describes it as the harness between the first connector to the second connector (before it finally goes up to the ABS ECU in the engine compartment). Fingers crossed that it is as simple as this.

Update for anyone interested. Fault fixed. It was the wiring harness that went from the first connector to the second connector under the front NS wheelarch. Replaced the old one with a new genuine VX cable.
