Kudo's on givin it a go budwould love to do this myself, just nervous of damagin trim etc when takin parts off to get done esp. clocks! whats best LED's? Im after white and blue, anyways lookin forward to the pics!
hehe thank you. thought i screwed up first trying to de-solder the old ones cause i kinda pulled up the track with it, luckly i bridged the gap with solder. the light comes on so all good for me, the hardest part is getting the old lights off. ive gone for all blue and it looks awesome if i get bored in the future might add another colour to spice things up abit.
also installed my vec-c owners club sticker today :P
Good show matey![]()
nice one ive started mine all i got to do is the radio, steering wheel control's and some buttons
Well done for starting the project. I started the same as you. Did both door switches heater panel and light switch. I cheated after that seeing the size of the LEDs for the cd70 and steering wheel controls and asked kman247 to do the rest for me. I'm so glad I did after watching my led hero dismantle the trim and soldering over 70 LEDs in under two hours.
Have a look on YouTube on how to bath the contacts in solder before removing the orange LEDs. It might save you some grief. Cheers
i now have a good way of de-solder em. i heat one side and piviot the side up then heat the other side and pull it off. then put a pool of solder on one of the pads and then solder that side first then tac abit onto the other contact, worked a treat. does the cd70 have the same lights as the steering wheel controls? is here a how 2 for them as ive been looking for ages lol.
omg lol ill see what i can do lol. good job i have a steady hand
