    Default Need an AF40 gearbox!

    Hi guys, run into trouble with my recently purchased Vectra 2.8T V6 2007.

    The gearbox is fubarred basically. Transmission specilaist says the bush in the torque convertor has nearly welded itself to the input shaft and oil is carbonised in the box.

    I have been quoted around £1300 to recondition and rebuild it. Which I am ready to bite the bullet on. I just can't be arsed with the malarky of driving it 100 miles back to the dealer to let him take it to get done then come all the way back with a possible bodge job.

    So can anyone reccomend a auto transmission speciliast in berkshire / hampshire than can recondition and rebuild my box cheaper than what ive already been quoted....

    OR

    Does anyone know where I can get an AF40 for the 2.8T V6 from a breakers or something?

    I can't just use a box from any engine though can I?

    I phoned vauxhall earlier and they said the AF40 on the 2.8 is a unique variant.
