Default took a wack up the backside

    afternoon people,

yep as the title says, i got a shunt up the rear yesterday as i was on me way home from work, i got a slight pain in my back but the car looked ok ish from what i seen yesterday at the time. i was statioary at the time at a traffic controled roundabout where i live and a few seconds later wack! only a young chap he was but nice as pie, and i even controled myself also, not like me. He said he was sorry and the reason was that his foot slipped of the brake pedle. i couldnt get under the car yesterday as it was emptying down and i didnt fancy getting soaked even more than i was waiting for the chap to give me his details. contacted the insurance and took the car for a qoute this morning, but as it wasnt raining i thought id have a look under the car before pulling off, and only to discover the rear bumper impact bar is snapped! what kind of speed will cause that to snap?

will try and upload photos of damage but at the moment im getting a message saying a token is missing.

Sorry to hear this - snapped the metal bar? Bit harder than lead to believe, surely?

took the car to my local garage today for the qoutation to be sorted and passed on to the other insurance group, one of the good things they told me was that both rear wings will need to be blended in to the bumper so that was a good thing for i as the last owner scrached them up quite good but im going to try and get my vxr rear valance sorted out too. any one know where i can get a y section pipe and a right side back box for the duel pipes? i might as start getting the work done now.

other than that im not doing to bad with my back, doctor said to try and take it easy but i have work this weekend and on call too and nights next week humping and bumping heavy kit too. hope i can hold out till friday.

got a phone call back today from insurance, roughly 1300 quid plus VAT to sort.

my only problem being now is the other party has not reported the accident yet! now iv emailed him today and he got back to me saying he hasnt reported yet as i did not give him my details. which at the time i did forget to give mine but i got his anyway. his insurers know about the accident anyway through mine. but it might of been to not wanting to stand in the rain for too long as it was chucking it down at the time.

now is he in the wrong for not reporting it or am i ? iv not been in any situation like this before.

No ones in the wrong mate , you have contacted your insurance and they will contact his, they will then ask him what happened, so nothing to worry about, same happened to my Mrs a few months back, the girl hit her and my Mrs reported it to her insurance and they dealt with everything
