    Default 8V or 16V

    Hi All
Spotted a 1.9 CDTi Vectra Estate 55reg and I was thinking of going to look at it, however I'm not sure now, as it's an 8V???

What do you think, is there any reasons I should avoid an 8V other than a 16V being a little more powerful? Sorry if someone has already asked this, I searched but found no other threads.

Go 8v, less to go wrong, cheaper to tax etc and a map will see it close to the 150 anyway. I have one and love driving it

I would guess more people own 150's than 120's here though - that's the impression I get anyway.

    Hi All

Thanks for the replies. I've heard that before, 8V means less to go wrong and reading from that thread, the 8V does seem to be less likely to fail, however there are so many variances to get an accurate reading.

I'm really wanting to find out if either engines had specific problems to watch out for and is it worth paying more and searching longer to find a 16V, as I don't want to be dissappointed when it's too late! I'm going from an Astra 1.7 DTi Estate, so I would guess the CDTi 8V will be a bit more powerful anyway, so I may not notice, however I suppose it's also heavier than my Astra.

I think I'll go look and test drive, as I haven't test drove any yet, this is the start of my search.

    Hi All
According to Auto Trader, this car is in tax band H £195!!! Is this right, my astra is only £115, so that's quite an increase, although it says 162g/km, which actually puts it in tax band G £170

Both 120 & 150 models are £170. This may have changed as they are messing again with the prices.
My 150 Signum was £165 last year for 12 months tax.
