    Default Wet boot

    Hi all
I have bought my 04 Vectra C and am looking to get it up to my personal standard of reliability etc.
When I open (eventually when the lock activates) the hatchback - all seems well - top of carpet dry but, when I lift the carpet - it is streaming with water on the left side from near the back to behind the back seat. I'm looking for any tips in identifying the source of the leak or, if it's a common problem - what to do. I've only had the car a couple of weeks and people are telling me already to get rid but, I know Vectra's in general to be pretty bullet proof so wish to perservere and get the old girl to it's former glory. Any help is welcome.
    Cheers
    Malc

I would suggest that it is the aerial base seal that has perished and the water is entering via that. It runs down the cable, then down the inside of the C pillar, down the back of the fuse box and on to the boot floor on the passenger side Its a very common problem. Drop the roof lining at the back, unclip the cable, 17mm spanner to remove the aerial base. Touch of silicone or go to your local scrap yard and find one from a Vec B and replace using a thin coating of silicone or vaseline.

Thanks DA, I'll give that a go. I put up a couple questions on the electronics board but I think I've solved the mysterious 'clicking' beneath my dash at startup from reading elsewhere on here - it's seems to be to do with the ventilation so there's something else for me to have a go at!!! Now if the ruddy rain'll just pack up for a few days!!!
    Thanks again.
