    Default garden shed

Anyone recommend somewhere to get a shed from? Just a bog standard 8x6 at a decent price. Don't mind from where as long as they deliver to near Edinburgh. I can put it up myself.

    Cheers

You tried the place between Sherrifhall roundabout and Danderhall mate? Dont go to Dobbies, I went for a look, was going to need a mortgage to buy one from them, lol.

Thanks guys. Ordered one from waltons.

I hear you about Dobbies, i was there the other day with my parents who were looking for plants and had a look at the sheds and couldn't believe the prices.

Just remember with a shed, you get what you pay for. I have seen people get "cheap" sheds and then ended up spending another £50 on felt within 1 year as the stuff that comes free is so thin. I brought a t&g shed and gave the base a good coating before laying it.

Can't recommend where to buy tho as I'm the other end of the country.

That 8 x 6 Value shed from Waltons will be pretty low quality, it'll be similar to the stuff you find at B & Q, Do it All etc, my 9 x 6 Pent Shed cost just under £1000 delivered untreated from a local fencing and garden buildings company and it's a very solid structure, my dad bought his shed from the same people 30 years ago and it's still standing.

Yeah I paid the extra for a T&G shed. My MIL bought a cheap overlap shed and I can totally see what you're saying. You get what you pay for.

Not quite got £1000 to spend tho lol

To be fair I bought mine as I needed a small workshop, so I needed something solid and reasonably secure, if it's just for storing a few garden tools etc in then it doesn't need to be so robust, as for the comment about the cheap, thin roofing felt supplied with cheap sheds, decent stuff is about £15 a roll and I think that 1 roll would do an 8 x 6 shed so that needn't be an issue.

It's not the method of construction so much as the thickness and type of wood used in the construction.
