Default Another variant of 2.0 turbo..

I have been thinking of changing cars and nothing is really grabbing me. So i started talking to Neo yesterday about the maptun options for my car. I thought i had a td04 14t turbo and blue injectors on my 06 vectra which would have meant stage 3 would have been a cheap and easy solution(software and green injectors). Upon investigation, my turbo is actually a TD04L - 11TK3 which according to Nige is what Saab used on their 1.8 turbos..confused? Yup me too!
So this throws a slight spanner in my cheap upgrade thoughts, as i would now require a 14t turbo to get to stage 3, but at the moment i just dont have time to fit a new turbo..

So as far as i can see we now have 3 variants of 2.0 turbo set ups..

1 - Garrett turbo and blue injectors
2 - Mitsi 11t turbo and blue injectors
3 - Mitsi 14t turbo and grey injectors

Worth checking what you have before starting your tuning, it might save you a few £ in the long run..

Has your car had a previous owner? Maybe original garret was going and cheap option was the Mitsubishi 11t or it may have been put on by mistake.

Are you happy that it is not the td04? Not saying Neo would tell you different as I found them to be first class, but have you got the numbers and checked yourself?

I was reading Saab's workshop application yesterday and pretty sure I read that the B207L (same as Z20NET) had the 11T, and that the B207R (210BHP version) had the 14T. I'll try and find it again.

That seems to contradict what Neo Brothers told you, namely that the 11T was used on the 150BHP "1.8t"/B207E.

No previous owners. I checked the details myself today and the above code is taken from the turbo itself. Nic @ Neo told me that the turbo was probably an 11T, i queried this and spoke to Nige. he hadn't heard of this. I assumed mine was a 14T as i previously only checked what make of turbo it was(garrett or mitsi) i can only assume Nic's tuned 06 plate was the same set up as mine?

Cheers J, its an easy enough job as i already have the oil and water lines in place..Any excuse for you to drive the stage 4 car eh?

It wasn't Neo who told me this. I spoke to Nige to see what his thoughts were about the 11T, he hadn't heard of them fitted to any Z20NETS and thought they were only fitted to 1.8T's but wasn't sure..

So as it stands, we have 3 different set ups on our engine - anymore?

it was a surprise to me for sure as nobody had reported this before, like when Phil found he had grey injectors and a different fuel rail, we still have not figured out what they are yet.. Later models also had a different exhaust manifold...

VX are full of surprises aren't they...

lol thats what i said the parts guy at the stealers, he was not amused. I also suggested that it could be a case whatever they could get cheapest as job lot from another GM marque... He still gets me my parts though, i must be his most frequent non trade customer.

If i want proper info on the engine i speak to Neo brothers and not the dealers... But i only discuss mine and its options not the other engine variants it could have come in.

Haha you got me! I just took it for a 100 mile drive & love it, stage 4 is great. Iv just bought an Astra Vxr gear knob from eBay, but I'm going back to engine mods, new uprated clutch kit, neo says they have a kit that will help get more torque just worth remembering if you do go down this mad mod road lol
