    Default Exhaust Bore

    Hi everyone,

Got a replacement Exhaust fitted from Kwik Fit (Simply as they are convenient and way cheaper than the Dealers) but it sounds as if they have fitted an exhaust with an exit hole bigger than it should be (Sounds all boy racery, which may appeal to some of you but hey!).

Will anyone on here be able to spot whether this is the correct exhaust for an 08 plate Vectra C Petrol 1.8 VVT, or have they fitted me the wrong back box?

    Thanks!

    Hi there
I work for Kwik Fit customer services team and spotted your comment on the forum.

Thanks for posting a picture, but it's always difficult to diagnose this way. The best thing to do is return the vehicle to the centre and they'll take another look at it. Sorry, I know this is an inconvenience, but one of the team will be able to take a closer look.

If you have any questions, please drop us an email at kwikfitwebcare@kwik-fit.com

    Kind regards
    Andy

No doubt Kwik Fit were way cheaper than a Vauxhall dealer, but it's not a like for like product. The Vauxhall exhaust is double skinned, so when the outer layer rusts through, there's still another layer to go. The Kwik Fit one is single skinned - when it rusts through, you have to throw it away. Secondly, the Kwik Fit one is just a large tube with an oval profile, whereas the Vauxhall one is specially shaped for strength and to reduce drone.

Well that was profound advice wasn't it? Is there a single, existing member of this forum that couldn't have given the same advice?

It's also a username being shared by several Kwik Fit employees - there's an Andy using it, and also a Gerry, and probably several more.
