Went to see Paulvectrac today. We had a run down to his mates local garage to get the car on the ramp and check out the wheels, tyres, suspension & running gear, see if we could sort out the vibration problem i had. As soon as it was up in the air the guys immediately saw the problem

Tyres totally split! Not driving another yard with those on. 2 new tryes later, all good. The 100 mile drive home was a pleasure. Now that's sorted on with the modding. Picked up my Angel eyes from Nidgeboy on the way over. Cheers guys

That's a LOT of wheel weights...
Equally, I would be wanting to know why the tyre split as that is an unusual pattern, although it does suggest impact damage rather than failure

What is the history of that tyre like?
    Has it been inspected before?
Did you buy the tyre or was it already fitted to the vehicle when you bought it?
If so, how long ago and what mileage has it covered?
(If you are the only driver) Do you remember driving over a bailey bridge, temporary bridge, or similar? Or parked in such a way that the inside edge of that tyre would have been hard against a kerb?

Well, it wobbled, they pointed it out immediately, changed the tyres, and it's fine now, so that'll do for me. Better than starting taking drive shafts out and getting those tested!

Tyre was new, been ispected twice before, fitted to the wheels when i bought them (new) Always careful then parking, driving etc etc. Never parked so the inside of of the tyre touched the kerb :/

If it has been inspected before, then most likely you have driven over some debris, a road surface failure, or similar

so, what you're saying is that it's only just happened, due to driving over something in the last week, but has been vibrating over 3 months, changing the tyres and the problem sorted is just a coincidence? Glad i took it to the experts!

Take it you've put something decent on it now... Cheap tyres are a nightmare in my experience. I had a pair of Fullruns on my old car and they would never balance up properly. Continentals on now and they are so much smoother, quieter and grippier its untrue.
