I have the opportunity, to say so, to give my 2.0 DTI Vectra C 180.000km + somewhere around 1.000 Euro for a 2.0 Turbo Signum, Z20NET engine, remapped at ~ 210 BHP.
The bad part are that the Signum has about 270.000 KM, it has a knock in the output shaft (or driving shaft, don't know exactly the translation) and the catalyzer seems to be damaged, for which the EML is on. Other than that, it has minor bumps & scratches, but those don't bother me too much, because my Vectra has the same (Romania, can't have a car without scratches on it )
Still, from what the guy that sells it told me, it's had many parts changed, like the turbo, front & rear shock absorbers & springs, spark plugs, break pads & discs and some other stuff that I have no idea how to translate in English
On the other hand, on my Vectra it seems that the DMF started to deteriorate as well, so I'll have to replace the whole clutch kit in a while, which would be a pretty pricy operation, somewhere around 7-800 euro.
The main question is... should I take it? The engine is, mainly, the only reason why I'd change it, but given the number of km & the troubles it has / might have, would it be a wise decision? How should I check for additional problems? From what I've seen, other 'weak' spots for the Z20NET are the vacuum pump and the timing chain? Any advices would be greatly appreciated
