    Default Does Anyone Know ?

    How many & what size jubilee clips do i need to change my thermostat as i am a novice when it comes to car mechanic's. I've had a read of the how 2 & it just says a selection of small & medium.

    Measure the diameter of the pipes you are taking off, and then buy appropriate jubilee clips to suit.

    When I changed mine on the Vectra I managed to use the original clips... Worked a treat... just a bit of a pain to use compaired to jubalee clips!

    In general you can just reuse the existing clips - on the 1.8 at least (and I think at least on the other petrol models) just squeeze them with a pair of pliers (or molegrips) and slide the clip 10cm or so back down the pipe. Then pull the pipe off. To refit, just squeeze the clips again and slide them back up.

    I used the same clips on my 2.2 when I changed the stat.

    if you buy the QH kit for the stat it will have a large one in it- but as said above- you won't need it unless you lose one lol

    I bought a selection around the sizes I needed, only around 50p each anyways.
