    Default Ebay Feedback

Can you open a dispute/make a complaint against an Ebayer who doesn't leave feedback, I bought an Astra H mirror cover off an Ebay business seller, paid straight away and left feedback the day the goods arrived, 6 weeks later and after sending the seller a couple of polite reminder messages, still no feedback left for me, I know it's not the end of the world but I do find it bad etiquette, bad manners and down right ignorant, needless to say, I won't be using that seller again.

Whilst it's bad etiquette not to leave feedback, it's not compulsory to do so. There's nothing you can do beyond a polite request (which you've already done) and then moving on and forgetting about it. It's not the end of the world and not like you've actually lost anything

Yeah, i know what you are saying, I just hate this sort of thing because it's the height of ignorance.

I didn't know you could do that, I'll give him a couple of days to see if I get a response to the message I sent yesterday then look into that.

I've sold a few things with out getting feedback. I send everything recorded so I know the buyer gets it. When selling I don't leave feedback until the buyer does to confirm that they got the item and are happy with it. Over a year ago I sold some faulty computer LCD flat screens that where from my work. The back light on them wasn't working so the screen wasn't showning anything. All but one left me a possitive feedback. The guy contacted me saying it wasn't working and I was like Yes its not as stated in the listing. The ***** left me a negative feedback for selling a faulty item and poor communiction to acknowledge the fault. Left me with 99% feeback but thankfully now I've back to 100%. Before I buy anything I'll always check the sellers feedback and pride myself on my own. So after that negative feedback I wait until the buyer leaves me some before returning anything.

I wouldn't nag. I know it's nice, but it's not life changing. A seller once nagged me 3 times in 24 hours for feed back, so my feedback was 'as requested extensively here is your feedback'.

Then again, I am a grumpy old man.

Yep I quite agree, it was brought in to stop buyers being ripped off by dodgey sellers, however now it's gone too far the otherway, lots of dodgey buyers and no means for a genuine seller, to warn others.

I sold a Guitar DVD as a Buy it Now, stating that it was a UK sale only, what happened? some idiot from germany took it within an hour of me listing it, then took 9 days to pay for it, I messaged him several times with no response and after the 7th day took out a dispute for non payment, he payed 2 days later and had the cheek to as why I was being so uncool with him, 4 days later he opened a dispute against me for not recieving the goods, here's the unfair part, as a seller I was expected to show that I'd made reasonable attempts to resolve the issue with the buyer before opening the dispute and then only after 7 days, I would argue that a Buy it Now item should be paid for straight away, he on the otherhand as the buyer didn't need to follow any proceedure at all, not even allow the package reasonable time to get to him. I got nowhere with ebay on this, they weren't interested in the fact that his dispute was purely mallicious, because I'd opened a dispute against him, all they were interested in was me having proof of delivery.

For some time now when buying I only leave feedback once it's left for me, after all you have paid & that's it. ...........
