    Default centre console removal

    hello , im colin in lincs , my brothers signum has just sufferd the dreaded water in passenger side syndrome , all left side carpets totaly wet through and sound proofing too , so we want to completely remove all carpets , but need to remove centre console , can any one please put me right on how to do it completely , thanks colin

    Start at the back of the console, pull out the rear ashtray, 12v Aux socket bit. You will then see 4 torx bolts, remove them and the arm rest lifts off. There are 2 torx screws holding the rear of the centre console to remove. Remove the coin holder and the plastic cover under the handbrake and you will find a few more torx screws, the centre bit of the console should now come out. To get the remainder out you'll need to remove the stereo, the button blanks, some trim, and some more screws and there are 2 nuts underneath blank covers in the footwells, 1 either side.

    TBH I would just remove as much water with a vax, then an electric fan blower heater is probably the easiest method to dry out the carpet. Leave the windows slightly cracked open doing this and running with the air con on whilst driving will also help dry it out quicker too.
