Default Couple of questions for those with the HID kit fitted...

For the headlight... which way does the bulb actually go in correctly... by this i mean... there is a long bar along bulb... does this sit at the top of the headlight or the bottom? See Picture below...

Second question is... i have an HID kit fitted in my FOG's too... they are always strobing so i'm always having to drive around with them on otherwise i get really funny looks from people... is there any way to stop this?

    Thankssss!

Think the Earth bars are on the bottom on mine.

aaaahhh, i see... i think i have mine at the top... would that also be the reason as to why it would seem as if the light just stops like a few feet infront of the car? might have to play around with that over the weekend..

    Thanks Guys

Depends which way round the baseplate is. On mine, the earth bar is in the path of the light. Depends where you buy them as some of the "cheaper" bulbs have ill-fitting baseplates or mounted to the bulb with the locating lug on the opposite side (which means that earth bar is in the light path)

Here's what i'm wittering on about... (i'm aware it's upside down btw)

The bulb's which I have are the one which are part of the kit bought from HID-Directs? So they aren't the cheapest of bulbs... I was completely confused by what you meant but the diagram help me make sense of it... are you familiar with the bulbs from HID Direct? If so what would you recommend... bar at the bottom or top?

    Thanks

Luck of the draw really, I've had HID's in the past on previous cars and they've been fine. These are the first H7 set i've had, and tbo, the bar being in the way doesn't bother me as the effect is only feint in the light pattern. I've tried a mate's h7 set and his was the right way round, not sure where he got his from though.

Hopefully another member should be able to help regarding bulb suppliers

Oh, and the H7 bulb will only fit in one way due to the clips having a locating lug for the tab on the bulb. This is why it's a slight pain finding a bulb that has the earth bar in the correct place, again due to bulb manufacturers fitting the baseplate with the lug on the opposite side.

    Forget where the bar goes.

Go by the tab on the base of the bulb.
