Default P0138 Fault : Siggy drinking petrol. Help Please

    Hello all

My friend who has just joined the forum has a Siggy 04 2.0t.

He asked me to post this as a favour.

He has had the emissions light come on. He called out the RAC who diagnosed the fault as P0138 02 Circuit High Voltage Bank 1 Sensor 2.

I have been reading up on this but but have suspicions that it could be something else as other members have replaced the sensor only to find the fault came back.

I see that some members have recommend using Catclean to clear any muck out. Would this be a good first step.

Any suggestions as to what to try next before we replace the sensor.

    Any good diagnostic tips

So far his siggy seems to rev fine and drive okay (no limp mode) He has noticed that he is having to put more fuel in than before. Can't give exact numbers but its drinking quite heavy.

    Appreciate any advice on this.

We are both coming over for the Luton meet 5th May. I wonder if that would be a better option for others to advise maybe ?

CTS = coolant temperature sensor, but IMHO there's nothing to indicate that the CTS is at fault, as the CTS isn't directly related to the emissions system.

Thanks for that I have now learnt another acronym.

Would anyone coming to the Luton meet be able to possibly assist us.

    Many thanks

You might have to bite the bullet and replace the O2 sensor.

That's fair enough. Money is not the problem but I wanted to double check here first before going down that route as you never know and this forum is a plethora of information :-)
