Default First Service - Remove K&N Air Filter?

    Hi Guys

About to book my SRI in for its first service.

Should I remove the K&N Panel filter and replace with standard one before doing so? Not sure whether VX would get 'funny' about it with regards to warranty, non-standard parts etc?

Also, will take CR1 diesel box off - is there any way that VX can trace the use of this and 'get funny' about this also?

    Many thanks

they shouldn't get a shirty on about the K&N cos it's a far superior filter to the standard so is not gonna effect the vehicle in an adverse way, on the contrary. They will not be able to tell you have had the CR1 on either. Mind you, it might be worth taking the K&N out and putting the standard back in just in case some over enthusiastic apprentice chucks it in the bin LOL. Or at least tell them to leave the air filter alone.

It all depends on your dealer, but my dealer is fine with them.

Take them out dude. The K&N won't affect your warranty, but as said above some apprentice fitter may just chuck it away.

Deffo remove the CR1. It takes a lot of digging via the Tech2 to see if there's been a rise in the Common Rail pressure, so don't worry about your dealer on that score.

It went last night... it broke my heart to sell it for £8999. I have lost nearly £2000 on it since February.

Kind of wish I had just stuck with that one now and not bought the facelift, still, you live and learn

Thought I'd read somewhere they dont change the air filter on the first service?
Also, if you have a K&N, I assume you have done the air box mod (if not, why not !!?). May be worth putting that back in also.

I think that I may take the filter out and CR1 off and leave the airbox mod done, I remember it being a bit fiddly to get off.

I can't see them getting too 'funny' about that or do you think they would? plead ignorance?
