    Default Front suspension strut

    Quick question about front springs...
How much force should it take to undo the nut on the top of the strut? I can't for the life of me get the nut off the replace the spring

Depends how rusty the threads on the strut are tbh. They sometimes need a good shove to crack them off though

Before trying to undo the nut get the spring under compressionn with the right tools, keep the strut bolted in with the 3 torx bolts and then using a spark plug socket the one with the hex top place a T50 (IIRC) down through the middle to hold the strut and trun the spark plug socket it may take some effort but it will work

Finally got everything to shift, But I didn't have any sockets or spanners that could reach the nut whilst being able to hold the thread... so i gave up and went to the garage next door to me, £10, 20 mins work and they did all that for me!!
