    Default iPOD Connectivity

On the Vauxhall-Accessories website they have this iPOD connection kit and cradle for the standard HUs and utilising an FM Modulator

    See Here

    My question is.........

Will the steering controls operate the iPODs, if so will be getting my girlfriend one for christmas for in her Astra

    Cheers

I would say no m8 the only way you can control Ipod's via the stereo is to buy say a alpine 9850ri or a hu with a control box. This just runs through the ariel lead so you tune it in on your radio & select the songs/folder etc using the ipod itself.

    Damian the answer is yes...

Your iPOD will only be getting played through the cars radio freq, your choosen freq, so you are not really messing about with anything just setting a new freq...if this makes sense...

My mate got something the same as this last year, not VX, and all it basically does is trick your radio into thinking that your iPOD is a now a radio station, ie Radio 1, so you will be able to use your controls on your steering wheel.

I think he only payed around about £15 for his.........

    Hope this helps matey...

I see what you are saying Davie, essentially she will be able to control the volume but she will not be able to skip to the next track, because the button that does this on the steering wheel is the button that skips through the presets and changes the frequency

    Cheers

The Panasonic's have control built in, but you need the Ipod lead as an extra.
