    Default Aux Belt Tensioner

    Hi, can anyone help

Just changed cam belt but was beaten by the weather and the Aux belt Tensioner.

I removed the tensioner and noted the routing of the belt, my problem is I dont seem to be able to position the tensioner in such a way that: -

1 - It allows me to create enough tension in the belt
2 - I am not actually feeling any tension when I move it, rather just the limited movement of the guide against the mounting location on the block

I imagine i should be locking it somehow but just don`t seem to be able to make it work.

    Any help would be appreciated

It does lock onto the side of the block, it just takes a bit of fiddling, then tighten the bolt that holds it to the block and use a spanner to turn the tensioner clockwise

Sorted, the tensioner spring was fractured internally which did not allow it to spring back from the `locked` position
