Some of you may know I purchased a second hand FRONT VXR BRAKE KIT 345MM.
The kit came with pads & disc's which looked in very good condition. I had them fitted to find the next day a rubbing noise.
Taking the car to my local garage the garage told me the discs where both warped from the inside and hence the rubbing noise. He told me to replace pads & discs which I did with the police spec. Then another rubbing noise started, I took the car back to the mechanics to find it was the dust pan on the inside. The mechanic pushed these back for me.
Stayed fine for two days now I have another rubbing noise, this time from the passenger side. I have only done 150 miles ( dual carriage ways & round about's mostly) I believe pads are still bedding in. The mechanic showed me the driver side running free & its not the dust pan touching the passenger side. The tyre run smooth and then sticks. He told me the the caliper is aluminum and is bent and needs to refurbished to correct this( he cant do this) He told me I should continue to bed the pads in another 1000miles to see if it gets better. Can you bend calipers and could this be the cause of sticking? I checked for myself on the ramp, if you move the passenger side tyre its free and then becomes very hard and then free again?
What do you guys think?
Should I also contact the guy on ebay and let him know about discs and & caliper and ask for a refund ???
