    Default Handbrake Cable Tightening

    Hi there

I was wondering is there a simple way to tighten my handbrake. I locks on about 6th click. I have read about people saying you can adjust the screw inside the car.
    Does this work?

Another method I read was to remove the handbrake cables from the rear calipers, pump the brake pedal with ignition on and then reattach the cables. A guy re-posted in this method saying he went from 7 clicks down to just 4-5 to lock.

Any advice guys would be helpful on how to tighten it slightly.

    Thanks

    thanks for reply.

Iv tried that but it still only locking on 5-6.

must be away to tighten it a little instead of new cable every time. I am usually very careful I don't pull to hard for that reason.

would one of the methods I read about not work??

    thanks

    humm
I'm trying to avoid new cable, cause ant got ramps to fit it and then will cost even more money.

What if i reset the spring just? surly it will start to re-adjust again making it tighter??

    would that work?

Why not try, wind pistons back, re assemble rear brakes ,pump brakes, then apply hand break ( without pressing button)? Mine is fine after a pad change. Perhaps who ever changed rear pads last might not of applied brakes first to take up the slack in the cable?

Thanks for replies guys. I might try that.

That would be easier than stripping gout the center console probably lol. If all fails looks like new cable i think.

Any more suggestions keep them coming.

    Thanks
