    Default car alarm problem

    My car alarm in my 2003 vectra keeps going off at random times, my neighbours are getting a bit chewed off now, any ideas anyone

    no its a saloon, and nothing on screen

    Could be battery in the sounder getting low. On an estate a common problem is the rear window sensors which can be bypassed with a paper clip. Don't know if it is the same on a saloon. There are How2's on here to rectify these. Mine had similar problem and safeguard did not always show on screen.

    Have you checked seat belts are fully retracted. They can slowly retract after arming, and trigger alarm.

    I know it's not exactly helping, but I had the exact same issue on my old LS for years, and could never get to the bottom of it. Did it with or without the internal sesnsors activated, day, night, completely random. Changed the sounder in the boot for a completely new one and still no difference. Gave up in the end and just got into the habit of locking it without the alarm activated. (Was possible on the early models by leaning in another door, and pushing down the lock button on the driver's door, then exiting the car.)
