    Default Virgin Media changes

Wee heads up for anyone with Virgin Media

They have changed the prices. But they never tell there exiting customers...

    For me.....
    I have Size:L 10mb broadband ONLY... for £22.50pm
i am phoning tomorrow/Monday for them to upgrade to 30mb speed for the same price £22.50.. (why should i pay for 10mb at £22.50 when i can get 30mb)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Also there legal bit at the bottom says

Free Virgin Media Super Hub: Available to all new broadband customers taking our 30Mb, 60Mb or 100Mb broadband services, and to existing customers upgrading to 30Mb, 60Mb and 100Mb broadband

    http://store.virginmedia.com/broadba...and/index.html

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Also they are doubling there speeds from july onwards so if you where already on 10mb you go to 20mb(no point, do what am doing).
    30mb to 60mb & 100mb to 150mb for the same price.
check out when your update is...
    http://doublespeed.virginmedia.com/

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

There Traffic management is better on the 30mb

On my Size:L 10mb line traffic policy....
If i downloaded more than 3gb from 10am to 3pm
or 1.5gb from 4pm to 9pm i also would be hit with 75% off my download speed.
so for 5hrs my internet would be 2.5mb
    see http://www.virginmedia.com/images/ST...low_800pxA.jpg

    ---------------

One am jumping to is L 30mb
If i downloaded more than 7gb from 10am to 3pm
or 3.5gb from 4pm to 9pm i also would be hit with 50% off my download speed.
so for 5hrs my internet would be ONLY 15mb !!!

Make sure use are not paying more than you folks should !!

Very interesting. I'm on a 10 mb line with them so will be watching the price hike and seeing what my options will be. Thanks for the heads up.

We're with Virgin, have been for years.XL tv, phone and Broadband, Being messed around a bit at present with our income, so told Wendy (who fancied a Tivo box). After advice from our own Spenny, she blagged a free tivo box and installation, movie channels and £10 pcm off the bill. She also persuaded them to let her have a Samsung Ace plus mobile with silly monthly calls and texts on the grounds I've already got a contract phone with them - for less than I pay. This is why I let her make these sort of calls, I'm too grumpy!

As above if your on a TV, phone and broadband deal and have been with them a while give them a call and they will knock £10 a month off if you tell them you feel your paying a bit much. I also blagged a new HD vbox.

    My Current Virgin Media Bundle:
    Broadband 10mb
TV L (115 Channels, 500mb Tivo and V HD Box)
Home Phone XL inc Line Rental and Talk Mobile 5.
    £65.90pm.

    Attachment 54390

After checking the website, being a "New Customer" and checking the bundle prices (NOTE: 60mb BB is £6pm CHEAPER than 30mb) and then phoning Customer Services, I am now (Hopefully) on:

Broadband 60mB + Free Hub to be delivered
TV XL (157 Channels, 500mB Tivo and V HD Box)
Home Phone XL Inc Line Rental, but dropped Talk Mobile 5 (£5pm).

    £64.90pm

    Sorted. For now...

Yea, I noticed earlier that the packages they provide are now much cheaper than what Im on... Free Broadband upgrade my arris, pfftt... I'll be ringing to cancel all services tomorrow then await the call back from their retentions. Its the only way for a loyal customer to get a fair deal...

Interesting - I'm currently paying £70 pm for 50 meg bb - xl tv - weekend calls and line rental .
Looks like I could get the same deal , but with 60 meg bb and a tivo box for £58.90 If I were a new customer.
And to top it off , my bills just gone up by about £4 pm , it used to be £66 , so it looks as though the offers for new customers , are being subsidised by the mugs (me) who have been with them ages - goes to grab phone
