Default Just filled up with Shell V Power Diesel - first impressions.

As per the title, I filled the car up with 50 litres of Shell V Power diesel today along with 2 and a half measures of Millers Diesel Power Plus (DPP).

I wasn't really expecting to feel a difference to start with but as soon as I pulled out of the Shell station onto the main road, I could feel the car is a good bit quicker than it was before. I've run it on Aral (BP) standard diesel with DPP since I got it so the injectors should be clean and free flowing.

I couldn't believe the instantaneous difference in performance and another plus is that there is absolutely no smoke from this fuel in my car. It was dark when I drove home and I purposely booted it and looked in the mirrors, usually there would have been a fair old cloud of smoke behind but I couldn't see any at all tonight.

Too early to tell if economy is improved. Theoretically it should give better economy as the car is now giving the same result as before for less of a throttle movement. Try this stuff if possible, I can't believe the difference.

V-Power diesel has been replaced by Diesel extra over her since couple of months (V-power is now only the 98 RON). I suppose it is the same fuel.
Economy has significant improved since i use it. Surely better than Hi-Q8 and other high performance fuels that I've tried.

I used Diesel Extra in my Passat when I lived in Scotland. V Power is now being sold in the UK at a limited number of sites but should be rolled out country-wide in the next couple of years. It seems that in the UK at least that V-Power will replace Diesel Extra.

Here in Germany V-Power petrol is 100 RON.

Might try the shell stuff then. So its not called V-power anymore, its diesel extra, is that right?.

Tried BP Ultimate in mine for a few weeks and in my opinion although it felt a wee bit crisper in response, it made more smoke when I gave the car some welly.

Diesel Extra in the UK is not the same as V-Power. Two different fuels. Sig was saying they renamed V-Power in Belgium and called it Diesel Extra.

V-Power is synthesised from Natural Gas. Diesel Extra and BP Ultimate in the UK are conventional crude oil distillates with additives. I'm guessing this is why I'm noticing a total lack of smoke with the V-Power.

    Ahhh.....right.

    My mistake.

So this V-Power stuff isnt too widespread in the UK yet then?.

Cant say I've noticed it at my local Shell garage, but then again, I wasn't looking for it until I read this thread, will check tomorrow.
