Question Problem with electric windows after stereo replacement

    Hi,

Just had a JVC double din head unit installed in my 2008 Vectra SRi, full adaptor kit to allow the steering wheel controls to work. After the install, the electric front windows are not fully working. They go up and down OK, but the auto open/close (short click on the button and the window opens/closes all the way) doesn't work any more.

Is there any way this could be linked to the removal of the CD30 head unit? Or is it more likely when they went fishing under the steering column for a switched live they messed something up in the wiring loom?

    Cheers,

    Martin

Just needs the one touch resetting on each window (they probably had the battery off), hold the button up on each window until you hear the relay click, simple as that.

Brilliant, thanks Ian! Something so simple

Guess I need to let the installers know this for the future.

    Cheers,

They have had the battery off, for future reference, it's all in the cars manual
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Hum, really - need to go digging then. I checked the "Electric windows" section, thought that was enough but obviously not!

    Thanks for the hint.

IIRC, the correct procedure is to fully lower the windows, then hold down the open buttons a couple of seconds. Next close all the windows, then hold the closed buttons for a couple of seconds.

That's the procedure in the book but you don't need to do it like that, the reason they give that procedure is to make sure you do the up part. Try it, take your battery off then just hold the up button til you hear the click of the relay and I guarantee you your one touch will work again
