Battery's been on the way out for a while. Gave up today, so off into town for a new one, courtesy of Halfords ( £25 off with a trade card )

Then proceeded into the town centre - odd, car's getting warm. Even odder, spanner light's just come on. Limped off the road just as the overtemp came on and shut her down. While I waited for it to cool, I checked the codes - P1481, 1482, & 1483 = all fan circuit related.

Gets home, clear run so no issues, car sitting around normal temperature. Search forum, go check fuses. Find one blown underbonnet that controls the fan. OK, fit a spare and run her warm.

Fan tries to start - sparks pour from motor, fuse blows again......

At least I know what else I need to change now.....

Is it because since the hospipe ban I haven't washed it and it's sulking do you think ?

Ah well - all smiles now. Got one off e-bay delivered today. 2 hrs start to finish, and that included swapping the fan over and rewiring as the new one was different polarity. Biggest hassle was removing that intake trunking that runs across the car. Only once I'd got it out did I find I could split it in two
