Default Flat ****ing tyre + rounded off locking nut

Heard a worrying noise from my rear left tyre, got out and it was flat arrhhh!! So I proceeded to get the spare and my strong arm for whipping the bolts off and I managed to pretty much round the locking bolt off. So I scambled home on the flat, only 1/4 of a mile from home thank heavens, and Ive got a locking bolt that dont wana come off with its key. Any suggestions on how to remove the swine? Drilling maybe? Im scared of taking my lovely anthresite paint off my rim arrhhhhh FML.

If it has a spinning collar - as the vauxhall ones do - then the socket will just spin.

Correct, mine had the spinning collar on and what a job to remove.... So we got it off finally and thought id share our experience for anyone in the future has the same problem.
We got a 19mm socket over the collar with brute force and a lump hammer and proceded to wiggle and wobble it like no tomorrow.... this took around 45mins hanging off it from every which way possible, eventually it came off.. with it still in the socket. We tried with the locking key again to see how it gripped, what a joke. So we got an 18mm socket and banged it over the bolt and hey presto it came off. What lessons have i learnt? Buzz guns and locking nuts should never cross paths, and VX lockings keys might as well be made of chocolate.

I lost my key once and had a nightmare too. I did the same method as above, only difference i welded a long half inch extension to the socket and wacked it on, then got some mo grips on the extension and used a small lump hammer and wacked the grips, came of after a few minutes.

Then used a smaller socket to wack onto the remaining bolt and removed with breaker bar.

    Its a ballache!!

Are you a member/have a family member of the AA or RAC as they can get them off in 2 mins or less.

A bit late I know, but when fitting I treat the wheels as having 4 steel bolts and a chocolate one.

Anyone recommend a better locking nut than Vx's ones????
