Hi All,
I work for an electronics component distribution business so getting hold of electronic componenets is no issue for me, however most of the time I would need part numbers.
I've been thinking of fitting TPMS to my VXR Estate and to do so I would need additional wiring from the Rear Axle plug to the passenger rear wheel arch which would then be terminated with a connector for the reciever to plug into.
Accessing and soldering in the connectors to the current plug which is in place (the start of the axle loom) should not be to much of problem. TIS shows me which pins need to go where, however I don't know what typre of wire to use and I don't know who the manufacture is of the plug on the other end nor do I know the part number.
Looking at TIS the plug for the rear receiver looks different to that at the front of my car..
Here's a pic of the location (all be it for a hatch - It's pretty much the same in the Estate, I've just nicked this image from another thread!)
The red square is the rear axle loom connector which i'll just populate a further 2 pins with new wire. I'm hoping the pins are there and just empty rather than needed adidtional crimps to populate inside the connector.
I'll either try and run this wire inside the current loom protector or ziptie a new one next to it to the location of the rear reciever.. I then just need to correct connector to terminate the two wires with..
I'll then quickly test the loom with a multimeter before plugging it all in..
So two questions really :-
1) What type of wire should be used? TIS states GNYE 0.5 (Green & Yellow) and BNWH 0.5 (Brown & White). So the colour is ok, but what is 0.5 about? How many strands would the wire be?
2) The connector needed on TIS has a code of ZFW 2-142 - How does this relate to an actual part number from a connector manufacture?
Hopefully the above makes sense and somone can help!
Regards
Pete
