New car minor probs

Got a couple of problems/irritations with me new mota.

1 - Handbrake lever sometimes clunks when pulling up, I can sit there with my finger on the button and pull it up and down (easy girls ) and it goes clunk cluck clunk, you get the picture. Doesnt do it all the time mind, and only clunks when pulling up, i.e engaging

2 - Boot release, when I press the button it makes an almighty clunk (almost a bang) and releases, this cant be right can it?, think it needs re-aligning or greasing.


Any ideas on these? are they common problems or indeed 'features' of the Vectra?

No, I've not experienced any such problems with my 'VXRD'.
What happened with your vibrations?

I haven't seen you cruising in the locality yet :-p

I have the same issue with the handbrake lever and had the same issue on my last vec too ... dealer couldn't find a fault after checking it a couple of times ... it's intermittent so I've learned to live with it.

Vibrations, well dealer said it was the road surface, because of the mahooosive alloys . I dont notice it anymore tbh.

Can anyone else test their boot release?, does it make a loud clunk?

Nope..it's just the usual 'click-whirr' as the motor cycles..

if you think it's too loud, try one at a dealers and then get them to listen to yours..

Try adjusting the black bungs on the inner trim of the boot lid. Tighten them down a bit so the boot sits a bit lower and see if that reduces the pressure on the lock.

Hmm thats worth a try . I will take it to the dealers but I like to sort things out myself if possible.
